While browsing the internet(s) I found this. The patch on that site allegedly fixes this issue, so I'd recommend it if you browse quite a few servers and know how to install mods...

from what i have read, there is nothing to worry about if you go to servers you can 100% trust. so the epic delve is safe. and if your friend has a server, that will probably be safe as well. just don't go to random servers until they fix this

As for the integrity of the patch, "sk89q" is a bukkit dev/mod, wrote worldguard and finally, the .class file has no references to external sites so it's not sending your password anywhere
