If your Beta crashes a lot...
Is your Beta crashing a lot?
Go here, watch, do as he says! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cofafyvOhuM
Since TED Beta is now going public, I thought it'd be a good time to put this where many can see it.
Of course, if your computer is rubbish this may not fix the issue

Re: If your Beta crashes a lot...
what also helped me out abit is to go to "run" and type %appdata%. Then go to .minecraft and delete the .bin file. This keeps all of your saved files and everything, but when you start up beta it automatically redownload's the .bin file getting rid of anything corrupted. Plus your video has been taken down.

Yes but doing that gets rid of any mods that you are using (pimpslice's method)

Re: If your Beta crashes a lot...
I'll have to find a new video, or I'll just tell ya what to do (if i remember o.O)
Edit: Not bothered to look for videos so:
Go to control panel, click Java, click the Java tab and then view.
Find the newest version of Java that you're running (if you have more than one), and double click in the "runtime parameters" box for that version so it'll let you type in it.
put "-Xmx2048M -Xms1024M" (not including the quotes and with caps) in that box, this sets the minimum and maximum heap size for Java. You can change these according to your computer specs but you could make it much worse or make it so Java just doesn't work (maybe)
This seems to have worked so far, Minecraft still crashes occasionally but not nearly as much.

Eh btw, anyone got a way to fix this problem :
Everytime I press right click to place a block, minecraft crashes. And when I log in, the block is placed. And it's so annoying. Btw I'm using a mac when that happened. Anyone know how to fix?

This didn't help me. I have given Java 3GB to work with, but Minecraft is only using at most 989MB before crashing.

Re: If your Beta crashes a lot...
Like I said, that's a glitch in 1.6.6
There's nothing you can do about it. I get an "out of memory" message too. I have 16 gigs of ram in my computer. I'm not out of memory.

Great, program Minecraft with another language. Right? what other alternatives could you think about instead of Java? I mean Paco, only paco, not others, can (Paco) think of anything else that can replace java?
Only java takes about a million lines of codes to program it.

Re: If your Beta crashes a lot...
Java really is a pain for many reasons, and I've already heard that they're moving it into C++. It's not definite, but it sounds like the current memory leaks won't be an issue.hkminegod wrote:pacoyu27 wrote:I think Notch shud really consider taking MC off java, and quick
