Plugin Ideas Thread

I thought I'd put this up here as I've been looking through the plugins on the Bukkit site, and some I've seen are really interesting. Obviously not all (or many) could be used on our server, but maybe you have joined a server before and really liked a feature that we could use. Or maybe you just want a really awesome plugin to be appreciated here.

Got Bukkit myself decent plugins that i have come across are...

blocks on glass - lets you place anything on glass

iconomy - helps you make a currency system

colored signs - makes signs colourful and easy to read

herosneak - adds a sneaking option so when you turn it on your name disappears

herochat. use different channels to talk. also can use /global to chat
towny. makes town for the server.

Explain to me what the point of starting a freeBUILD is when you cant even make your own town? xD

Part of the fun of creating a new server in my eyes is creating a nice spawn area wich is mostly a town
its not like you downloaded Gate,did you?

the towny plugin doesn't build the city for you. it allows you to create the labels and assign city ranks. it's not really needed because of the way we have our city set up

group manager isn't better at all. and it's rarely supported by plugins, unlike Permissions.

Honeypot- Just like autoban zones

Autoplanter- A very simple way to keep forests alive, even if fire is turned on

Gives the option not to show join messages, which could be useful for sneaky modding

Most of the stuff on this plugin is pretty useless and unneeded, but the lightning strike when somebody says a "bad" word is quite good I think

i looked over honeypot before, it's not a bad idea. I just have a hard time thinking that any plugin that's anti-grief is going to help us since we have bigbrother.. which can basically detect and rollback anything.

we already have one like autoplanter. It places a sapling when the tree is cut down.

they help file one isn't a bad idea.. i think essentials might already have something that only shows commands that you can use

For honeypot, I just think it's always good to stop grief before it can happen if we can though

Well it came to mine and Epicgoblins attention that creepers are now boring. They used to be the kind of green exploding p****es that you would like, but they just aren't cool anymore - they've changed man. They sort of just try and explode in your face, fail, and then stand at a safe distance and stare at you.

Now with this plugin we can restrict creepers from doing any block damage with their explosions but they still hurt players and other mobs.

i found this which is a PvP arena battle,with a red team and a blue team, and customizable classes,this could be used if u guys ever do a battle area + saw this on a server while watching youtube and was pretty epic

there are several battle arena's already. (go to the fountain in beta jump in and take the right portal) it is still empty there but the classes you mentioned would be a very nice add.

There is an epic portal gun mod. Does what it says on the tin, though I'm not sure if it's Bukkit or not. It IS safe.

Lockette Plugin allows users to lock thier Chests, Doors or Furnace (and other users cant open or destroy locked stuff) also you can add more users to be able to unlock the stuff and also if used on doors you only have to click on one door and they both open and you dont need to use switches (redstone etc) if you use it on iron doors
