PvP ..some thoughts

hey guys. i REALLY appreciate that you opened a PvP world, but here some thoughts:

--> you are allowed to bring stuff from the 'peaceful' world and you can take stuff back to it.
-> alright, i've experienced PvP as a mod in which you build your own base, try to keep others out of your base, but also try to get into 'enemy' bases to steal good items like diamonds, ores etc

well who's gonna store his diamonds in the PvP world where everyone can steal it if they could also store it in the 'peaceful' world? i think the fact that you start your base from zero and try to hide it or make it as safe as possible makes this mod so exciting.

also the world seed is pretty awesome but it doesnt really work for PvP, does it? you cant just walk straight without having to watch the ground below your feet.

i'm not really sure what your saying, so he's an attempt to respond..

i'm allowing you to take stuff to and fro so you can use your swords and loot in either world. Think of the PvP world as a "shop you have to work for".

The world is like that because 1- there's no night and day. 2- it's freakin' awesome looking. and 3- it creates a challenge, everybody knows what caves look like, everybody knows how the water is going to flow, but in the PvP map format, caves are anywhere, people can claim floating islands and create lookout towers.

and why would someone store stuff on a PvP map?

ummm... you arent allowed to steal are you?
its a little double: on the portal it says NO RULES
and IN the world it says that only rule 2 and 7 dont count???
maybe 2 admins?

i think he was saying that in the other server we were playing on, trying to hide your base or make sure your precious diamonds were safe was part of the fun and when u can take it back and forth it takes that element away -im not sure if this is right but i was just trying to see where he was coming from

there's no unnecessary griefing in the PvP world, which means you can't just see someone's house and start deleting it because you want to.. but if you're chasing them.. and they start to place blocks to block you, you can delete those. Stealing is allowed. So either hide your stuff really well.. or take preventative measures to make sure nobody can get to it.

so we cant break someones house if we wanna steal their stuff?

That's when the admins on that server starts to show off their /tp powers and god mode, tp'ing to us and killing us.

ok i wanted to say: stealing is one of the things, that make PvP funny (because you have to hide your stuff really really really well, which i think is pretty exciting)
but why on earth would i store my diamonds on the pvp world, if i can take them back to the other world where the are 100% save (unless some admins hit you with lightning )?
--> noone wants to get their diamonds (or obsidian or other rare blocks) stolen, ergo noone will store their diamonds in the pvp world, ergo there is nothing interesting to steal, ergo PvP is not challenging

When I fly around checking out other people's builds (but not killing them obviously) I've noticed that there's plenty of people who store things. In fact.. I raided deimos' little shack near spawn because he didn't have any protection against raiders. This was all done fairly with godmode off and not flying.
