Moar Computers Empty Moar Computers

Post by Manwich Wed Mar 14, 2012 5:18 am

So since my last computer build was a rousing success, my father has decided to pay me a few hundred bucks to make him and his workmate computers. They're both draftsmen, meaning they work with CAD programs (ProSteel in this case), so what they're doing is pretty graphics intensive. (My computer is getting jealous of this one Neutral )

I would go with more RAM. I think most CAD programs require 8 as a minimum. I'd say at least 12. Just make sure you get a MoBo that can handle that much per slot.

as per that monitor, check this one out. I've done a LOT of research and this is actually going to be MY next monitor.

Find the Australian equivalent of that amazon site.

780 bucks for a monitor seems crazy. Even the new BenQ gamer series monitor IPS panel is under 600 bucks, and that's one of the best ones on the market.

Other than that, that setup should be fine

Thanks Chris, well the minimum requirement for ProSteel is actually only 1 GB RAM, but I'm sure that is way too little. Well my dad is pretty determined on getting a Samsung monitor, so I doubt he'll change his mind. It's going through the business so I don't think money is really much of a question.
